The Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITP-CAS in short) founded in June 1978, is a professional institute focusing its research emphasis on the main fundamental research of theoretical physics.

Institute of Soft Matter and Biomimetics , Xiamen University (ITPA-XMU in short) is the innovation platform to build domestic and foreign research for frontier and leading basic research, develop bionic technology, create change the future life of the people in intelligence, introduce new materials and advance processing technology, and develop new technology industrialization.

Research Institute will mainly focus on the soft material and related function of the biomimetic method, combined with advanced nanotechnology and various physical, chemical and biological technologies, the formation mechanism of the materials, to reveal the relationship between structure and properties, the materials design and synthesis, super performance, multi function and intelligent materials.
